Main Building of Changhong COC PDP Project has been topped off ahead of time2008-01-23
Along with the precise installation of the last framework, the steel structure of main building of Changhong COC PDP project has been topped off successfully ahead of planned time. In January 19, “COC PDP Project Main Building Steel Structure Topping Ceremony” was held in economy and technology development zone, Mianyang, Sichuan. Since the start of construction in April 28 2007, COC PDP project has been promoted rapidly in the past 9 months.
According to the description of Changhong, COC PDP project has gone well. In capital construction, up to December 2007, 90% of total construction had been completed and the construction of supporting establishments (power workshop, gas station and so on) had been in schedule, and the equipments had been installed and tested according to the plan. The process equipments used are international advanced and has experience in volume production of “42″×8”. In technology, COC has carried out deep developments on basis of original multiple patent technologies and cooperated with national key research academies and institutes, forming virtuous cycle of “develop – study – research”. In products, the resolution has changed from HD (high definition) to FHD (full HD) and the size has changed from 42″ and 50″ to 60″, forming complete product series. In employees, a large number of volume production experienced talent gradient teams have been gathered and cultivated in Beijing R&D center and Korean ORION PDP.
Changhong has signed cooperation development agreement with many local enterprises on equipments, process materials and key parts and components. Moreover, investment recruitment for local production of screen mask, glass substrate, paste and wet chemicals has been in execution and achieved distinct result.
“We have got substantive progress in independent development on electronic paste, drive IC and PDP power module.” said by vice general manager Wu Yingjian of Changhong. He also said Changhong had full confidence in the on schedule completion of stage one construction and the smooth and successful production. He also estimated that the first plasma panel of Changhong would be released in the first half year of 2008.
